In addition, Assessing Services for Household Activities (ASHA) complements the infrastructure development activities in Doti, Dadeldhura and Pyuthan districts. Strategic Partners of CARE conducted 468 events of community level social inclusion, community peace building, and do no harm trainings to build the community capacity for peace to 9,734 community people. Up to 2nd quarter of fiscal year 2007, community groups identified and implemented 306 events of nomalization activities and issue based peace initiatives to enhance capacity in peacebuilding by identifying issues creating conflict and advocating for their resolution. These initiatives address different social, political and cultural issues which is pertinant to create harmony in the communities. CARE has developed a modality to promote peace and create social harmony in the society. It implements program activities based on the modality.
The program supported 150 Community Forest User Groups to implement different income generation activities. As a result, 1308 poorest of the poor households identified through well being ranking are benefited. Similarly, 150 dalit, marginalized and victims of conflict youth received different vocational trainings to increase the sustainable income opportunities. Altogether, 356 community development projects were implemented up to the 2nd quarter of FY 07. CARE implemented these projects in Kanchanpur, Kailali, Surkhet, Bardiya, Banke, and Dang districts.
