Hygiene had become an issue to the people after the devastating earthquake that took place on 25th of April as most of the toilets were destroyed and people did not have a proper place for defecation. In addition, the monsoon also increased the risk for the outbreak of waterborne diseases. Keeping this in mind CARE was proactive in distributing WASH materials to the people affected by the earthquake. Moreover, with the support from CARE Nepalâs donor ECHO, CARE has been successful in distributing latrines in Dhading and Sindhupalchowk districts so that people live in a clean and healthy environment.
