With whom does CARE Nepal work?
CARE Nepal partners with local institutions that have proven to be an important means of increasing the reach and sustainability of CARE programs. Implementing activities through local institutions, particularly local NGOs, has the double benefit of providing services to beneficiaries while increasing the institutional capacity of the implementing organization. CARE Nepal coordinates its programs with the Nepalese Government at the national, regional and local levels, to ensure that development activities complement national initiatives and are in accordance with official development plans and policies. CARE Nepal is currently working in partnership with more than 80 local NGOs, 1,000 community groups, several local governments, 10 different networks and about 1,000 community based organizations to implement on-going programs. CARE Nepal works with rural communities to increase their capacity to plan, manage and implement activities on their own. Capacity building has been an efficient and effective method to ensure sustainable development. CARE Nepal places special emphasis on involving poor, vulnerable and socially excluded groups such as women, dalits and marginalized groups in local development processes.
