The main purpose the “Knowledge Sharing on Peacebuilding” is to document and systematically share the acquired knowledge of CARE UJYALO team based on SECI model. During this 3 year’s period, staff and partners of UJYALO program have learned how every conceivable development approaches from civil society strengthening to income generating activities can be developed and implemented in such a way that it builds peace and harmony in the community and promotes non-violent resolution of conflict. Staff acquire extensive knowledge to facilitate skill building trainings e.g. in the topics – institutionalizing inclusive practices in community development work, peacebuilding and rights based approach in conflict affected areas, influencing decision making process at various levels, maximizing synergy efforts, applying Do No Harm, working with survivors of conflict, social and public audit, human rights, women’s human rights, conflict transformation, women and conflict, women and peace process, transitional justice, healing and reconciliation, gender based violence, reintegration, relationship building etc.

UJYALO is one of the first and largest peacebuilding programs in Nepal. It has made real impact in the lives of Nepalese who has been affected by conflict in different ways. Building on the strength of five collaborating organizations together working for a common goal in UJYALO program is a unique concept for Nepal. By working together, it has not only created good impacts through its synergy works-looking at the holistic development of its beneficiaries but it has also transferred wide knowledge of one organization to another. It has experiences working with different approaches to create favorable environment in the community to promote peace and harmony during the period of armed conflict and post conflict. CARE Nepal UJYALO team feels that the learning that it has acquired during the project period is very valuable and is important to be shared widely so that the ongoing and new projects can apply this knowledge in themselves and to it's broader participants. The Global Knowledge Sharing Fund has become a great support to quickly put together some of the valuable above learning's to share widely.
