Emergency Assistance for Rehabilitation of Health Services

Project Goal: To extend immediate support to the health facilities from district to community level and make them functional
Major Interventions
  • Renovation of damaged health facilities based on the need assessment
  • Repair/replace equipment to strengthen cold chain system
  • Orientation and motivation to Health facility management Committee members
  • Capacity enhancement of Health workers

Working Modality
The project is implemented in coordination with District Health Office (DHO. The Sub/Health Posts (S/HP) and FCHVs through their orientation and mobilization in carrying out the activities.

Each district has a project staff to coordinate and oversee the activities in their assigned district. The project is managed by Remote Area Development Project, Nepalgunj, with the technical support from the health sector, both at Nepalgunj and Country office level.

Major Accomplishments (May 03 – Feb 04)

  • Organized management and skill building training to health facility management committee members (250), health workers (182) and volunteers (238) in both districts
  • Altogether 13 health facilities were renovated and provided with necessary equipments like solar freezers, vaccine carriers.
  • Conducted meeting with District Health Management Committee (DHMC) and Reproductive Health Coordination Committee (RHCC)
