Bajhang is one of the poorest, most deprived, and remotest districts in the Far Western region of Nepal. CARE Nepal jointly with the Remote Area Development Committee is implementing the Bajhang project in district’s 47 Village Development Committees to improve the livelihoods security of 17500 households disadvantaged households.

In response to the needs of the most marginalized people in the working area, the project facilitates district-wide strengthening of institutions and groups concerned with governance, health, agriculture, natural resources and education.

The project works with various local partners to implement its activities. By using new and innovative approaches, the project aims to develop local capacity that continues after the project’s completion. The project is building partnerships also with government agencies in the district that have shown commitment and motivation to help plan and implement development activities.
